Richard Cohen, MBA, CVPM - Certified Practice Manager
Richard has been working in veterinary medicine since 2001. Originally from Long Island, NY, Richard moved to Washington, DC in 1997 to attend American University. After graduation, Richard worked at Friendship Hospital for Animals from 2001-2005 in various positions including Front Desk and Inventory Manager. In 2005 he took a management position with the Boy Scouts of America, in their Bethesda office. Over the past 8 years he has managed and consulted with various veterinary hospitals in the DC area including Union and Dupont Veterinary Clinics. Richard lives with his wife Nicki, a veterinarian, daughter Alexis, son Russell and their 3 cats, BB, Toby, Hershey.
Victoria M. - Client Services Manager
Victoria came to be part of the Palisades family 2010. She’s been working in the veterinary field for over 15 years in many different areas. She’s had the pleasure of working with a few different species of exotics like spiders, fish, snakes, and birds. She has experience with nutrition, acupuncture, and holistic medicine. In her free time, she enjoys taking care of her family which includes two children and husband. She also enjoys watching sports, listening to music, and movies.
Mallory Ferreira - Veterinary Technician Manager
Mallory is a Massachusetts native, who relocated to the DC area in 2016 and has been with Palisades since May 2017. She has been in the veterinary industry for 8 years now. Mallory received her BS in Animal Science at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. She started her journey in the animal industry as a Barn manager, but quickly realized she wanted to help cats and dogs. Before working at PVC, Mallory worked for Royal Canin and is educated in animal diet and nutrition. When she isn’t working, she enjoys being with her husband, Louis, her cat Ruca, and 2 dogs, Maple the hound, and Ivy, the pitbull. If she is not at work, you will probably find Mallory at the barn with her horse, Blue.
Lauren D., Front Desk CSR
Lauren began working with animals at age 17 in a pet store. She quickly transitioned into working in the Veterinary field and found her calling. After a break, she has been back in the field as a Veterinary receptionist since 2008. She has been part of the PVC team since October 2017. Growing up she had cats, gerbils, guinea pigs, fish and a chameleon. Currently she has a maltese bichon mix named Louie, a hedgehog named Rosie, and a guppy- named Guppy.
Liz F., Front Desk CSR
Liz has grown up in the Palisades neighborhood since she was a child. She started working in the animal world 30 plus years ago. She worked for the previous veterinary hospital, Ross Veterinary. She has been back at Palisades for the past 3 years and is very happy to see many old friends. She is married with 2 adult daughters. Over the years she has had many pets. Dogs, cats, rabbits and now only her families beloved Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Chip.
Natalie P., Front Desk CSR
Born and raised in D.C. Natalie received her B.S. in Animal Science at New Mexico State University where she worked with livestock and companion animals. Her love for animals started with her first pet rabbit named Lucky and she knew she wanted to work with animals since then. She enjoys spending free time outdoors, eating good food, learning how to play the saxophone, and spending time with family and friends.
Luc D., Front Desk CSR
Luc was born and raised in DC and grew up owning and loving dogs. He attended college at Humboldt State University before moving to Chicago and finally making his way back to DC. He now lives with his girlfriend, their new puppy Wallace, and Curtis the fish. Luc enjoys taking his pup to the dog park, cooking, snowboarding, and rooting for his local DC sports teams. Luc loves working at Palisades Veterinary Clinic because it allows him to work with animals every day.
Jamila has been working as a veterinary nurse since 2007. She has been with PVC for over 5 years. A graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, B.A. Psychology. Jamila is now working on applying to veterinary school. She is a pet mom to Duke Mason who she recently rescued from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and a 10 year old DSH named Dexter. Her interests outside of vet medicine include spending time with friends and family, crafting, and traveling.
Danell started her career in veterinary nursing the tender age of 19 at the Washington Humane Society. She had completed 2 years at SSU and then began work at the New York Avenue Animal Shelter. She helped start up and open the Georgia Ave spay-neuter clinic for WHS. She then worked at Southpaws referral center, and after that joined our group of sister practices. Special interests are all things feline (cats cats cats!!!) and especially if they are in need of help, with a healthy side of dog love too. She is a real softie for dogs and cats, for sure. She has 4 needy cats and 1 husband. Hobbies outside of vet nursing include watersports, pop culture, and family time.
Tai is a native Washingtonian from the N.E. area. She went to school at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and received her B.S. in Animal Science. She has been a vet tech since 2003 and has worked at Palisades since 2014. She is the pet mom to an adorable huge Cane Corso named Barack. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and listening to 90s R&B music.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C. Shayna attended School Without Walls Senior High School (Class of 2011) and is a recent graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where she earned her Baccalaureate Degree in Animal Science. She was an intern here at PVC last summer before she became a veterinary assistant. She will be attending veterinary school next fall (2017). Shayna is a swimmer and loves watching The Vampire Diaries, she has one loveable dog at home her miniature poodle, Ricky Bobby.
